Akshay Kumar Reveals his Own Father’s Health during Waqt: A Race Against Time

Akshay Kumar, who is one of the most respected actors in the Bollywood film fraternity and has played all sorts of roles and characters on-screen, revealed something shocking recently. Akshay played a memorable lead role in the Amitabh Bachchan starrer 2005 film “Waqt: A Race Against Time”, reveals that his own father was fighting the deadly disease cancer while he was shooting for the movie in 2005. Amitabh Bachchan, who plays Akshay’s father in the movie is also shown to be portraying the same illness on-screen.

This movie is one of the best movies of Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar. This emotional movie collected INR 23 crores at the box office, and was considered among the duo’s biggest hits.

Akshay Kumar has said, “That time even my father had cancer. And in the film, Mr. Bachchan’s character also had cancer. If you see those scenes, they are real. It was a very hard film for me emotionally. There were so many times when the scene was over but I couldn’t stop my emotions. Which is why this film will always be in my memory”. Akshay considers this movie very close to his heart for the very same reason, as this was a time in his life where the real and the reel world collided and ran parallel.

Waqt: A Race Against Time also starred Priyanka Chopra, Shefali Shah, and Boman Irani, apart from the Amitabh Bachchan and Akshay Kumar in the leading roles of father and son.

Akshay Kumar is now all set for the release of his latest upcoming movie with Karan Johar, “Kesari”, which is based on the battle of Saragarhi in the backdrop of the year 1897. In the film, Akshay Kumar plays Havildar Ishar Singh, who led the Sikh Regiment against Afghan tribesmen in the 1897 battle in 1897 of Saragarhi.

The film has been directed by Anurag Singh, and is out for release in Holi 2019. The first look of Kesari has been long out, and has been the talk of the B-town for months. Now it is finally out on the floors and waiting to be released.
