Saat Uchakkey Movie Review

First look poster of the film – Saat Uchakkey

The Comedy in the Film is really hard to handle

This Friday had a couple of releases which include Saat Uchakkey and Anna. Let’s talk about the former first. The film is a comedy with the backdrop of a crime having seven loafers planning to snatch away the stuff with the elements of comedy in it. Though one can find the movie to be uncanny but at the same time have the elements of humor in it. The film has loads of actors in it including Manoj Bajpayee, Kay Kay Menon, Anupam Kher, Vijay Raaz, Annu Kapoor and Aditi Sharma in the lead actors. The film is directed by Sanjeev Sharma while it is produced under the banner of Waves Cinema. The story of the film is written by Sanjeev Sharma and Sandeep Saket. Now, let’s check the crux of the film as under:

Plot

The film is all about having seven loafers who all plans to rob the wealth from one of the rich man based in their area. They conspire to snatch away the said stuff, however, amidst their entire uncanny plan one can find loads of humor in it making a mess of their plan the most. So, what goes the next is interesting to catch in your nearby theatre. Whether they are able to snatch away the entire wealth or not, and what really happens when the police come to know about their plan is really intriguing things to consider.

Review

The script of the film seems to be simple and straight however, the way the humor is loaded in the film is interesting to catch. One can find the film to be a bit uncanny but at the same time it is very much hilarious. The promos of the film released had created some amount of buzz over the social media, while the chemistry between the Kay Kay Menon in the role of a cop and Manjo Bajpayee one of the robbers is really interesting to catch. The film is really very much crass and chaotic, however, with ace actors like Vijay Raaz, Kay Kay Menon, Jatin Sarna and Manoj Bajpayee playing the leading roles can really keep the audience glued over the chairs. One may find the film to be very much funny and uncanny however, looking at the entire scenario of the film seems to be different. The entire package of the film doesn’t really sustain the laughs and chuckles one can find in any other comedy film, thanks to the uncanny elements being infused in the film that keeps things rolling. In fact, the diverse cast found in the film has its own pros and cons, which has equally the beauty and darker sides of the film.

Now let’s talk about performances, well the movie has given equal opportunities to the lead actors to play their part end win hearts of the people, however, the top actors only were able to do so. Let’s talk about Manoj Bajpayee playing the character of Pappi who gets the plan to rob the wealthy man in the city. He is simply awesome while playing the character so well in appearing the typical man from the old city area of Delhi. Next is Vijay Raaz in the role of Jaggi who is a local tapori and has done justice to the given character. He has smartly infused the elements of humor and uncanny things in his role to make it lively and vibrant. Kay Kay Menon in the character of a cop is incredible; he has played a typical thulla from Delhi Police and imbibed the character so well that others would barely leave their seats while catching up the movie. The others like Anupam Kher, Jatin Sarna and Aditi Sharma too remained at par.

Direction, Music and others

The direction is at par and Sanjeev Sharma is smart enough to equally distribute the character though not all of them seem to be par over the silver screen. The screenplay, editing and other elements like music and photography remains okay and has somehow managed to get things done the best the way the script has actually demanded from the movie.  The technical elements too remained okay helping the entertainment value of the film remain at par.

Saat Uchakkey

The film Saat Uchakkey is a blend of humor and uncanny things, which seems to be an interesting combination though but has failed to deliver the same in a complete package. Though one can find the film at one go to be a cool platter to try however, as we go through from one end to the other passing every inch and seconds of the film, you have too many surprises to check with. This is the reason why the rating of the film can be hampered.

Rating – 3.0
