Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan Set to Reveal First Look Motion Poster of Their Horror Comedy on September 9: Report
Fans are buzzing with excitement over the highly anticipated reunion of director Priyadarshan and actor Akshay Kumar. Their earlier collaborations, including the beloved comedies Hera Pheri and Bhool Bhulaiyaa, were major box office hits, setting high expectations for their next project together. A source close to the film has revealed that it will be a horror comedy, and it is set to be unveiled soon, with Ektaa R. Kapoor backing the venture.According to a report from Mid-day, fans can look forward to a special surprise on September 9, coinciding with Akshay Kumar’s birthday. A motion poster, lasting one minute, will be released, showcasing not only the eagerly awaited title but also offering a sneak peek at Kumar’s character. Priyadarshan has been diligently working to bring this project to fruition, recently visiting Mumbai to finalize the motion poster.
As reported by Bollywood Hungama, this marks the first collaboration between Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan in 14 years, with filming scheduled to begin in February 2024. In April 2024, Priyadarshan shared with Hindustan Times, “Now that I have completed my docu-series on the history of the Ram Mandir, my next major project is with Akshay, produced by Ekta Kapoor. It’s a horror fantasy infused with humor.”When asked if the new film would resemble Bhool Bhulaiyaa, the director clarified, “That was a psychological thriller, but this one will be a fantasy set against the backdrop of black magic, which is one of India’s oldest superstitions.
Collaborating with Akshay has always been a pleasure; he brings such emotional depth to his roles. I was waiting for the right subject to work with him again, and I believe this is it.”While specific plot details remain under wraps, it is confirmed that Akshay Kumar will portray a charming character caught in a love triangle with three women. The combination of the horror comedy genre, Priyadarshan’s trademark humor, and Akshay Kumar’s magnetic screen presence promises a unique and entertaining cinematic experience.
