Netflix’s Chopsticks First Look Teaser Trailer Fit Enough to Introduces Mithila Palkar’s Character
Netflix has very recently released the teaser trailer for its upcoming Indian original film, Chopsticks. Introducing Mithila Palkar’s character Nirma Shahastra Buddhe in the first look displayed by Netflix, she has been portrayed as a “shy and under-confident” young woman who’s the new girl in the city of Mumbai.
The city revolving series will be directed by Sachin Yardi (Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum). Chopsticks brings in the twists and turns in the story as Nirma tries to pull off “an enigmatic con to help her recover her stolen car from a goat-loving, simply crazy Mumbai gangster.
The first look teaser trailer of Chopstick opens up with Nirma (Palkar) giving a tour of the Dharavi slums to a group of Chinese tourists in Mandarin. Soon a twist comes in as she buys a new car, trying to build her confidence using the repeat-after-me motivational tapes. But, all her motivation goes in vain as a bad turn enters her life where after being duped by a ‘parking attendant’, she realizes that her car had been stolen.
The trailer of Chopsticks also holds several glimpses of a goat and Abhay Deol (Dev.D) in the form of few successive quick cuts. Abhay is playing the role of an unnamed con artist who joins Nirma and helps her get her car back. The Chopsticks teaser closes out in a joke where the cop registering the FIR laughs that Palkar’s character is inspired and bears similarity to the popular washing detergent in India.
Bobby Deol, Annup Sonii are joining the cast of SRK-Netflix Indian partnered film, Class of ‘83. Coming to Netflix, Chopsticks is going to be the fifth Indian film in 2019, on the back of the critically-acclaimed drama Soni, Priyanka Chopra-produced Firebrand, Madhuri Dixit-produced 15 August, and Manav Kaul-starrer Music Teacher. Netflix is also working on a number of other ongoing projects apart from the collaboration with Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar.
