Amit Sharma is the man who directed the film Badhaai Ho and it brought a whole lot of applauds for the film making it the most ambitious film in 2018. Now, as per the latest buzz, the director is gearing up for a biopic film made on a football player and sports coach Syed Abdul Rahim. He is the man who is called as the founding father of Indian football, while he was also the leading football player in the country apart from being an influential coach.
As per the director, making this film will be a dream come true wish for him and an opportunity to pay a small tribute to the unsung hero like Syed Abdul Rahim. While talking about the film, he said that he always wanted to do a sports film and a biopic and this venture has given him two things in one. Ajay Devgn would be playing the former footballer on the silver screen and thus he would need to start the training for the game to appear realistic in the film.
As per the director, the actor will start his football practice in the coming months as per the director’s given time table. Amit while talking about the same said that one has to take a plunge into the water to be a swimmer. Hence if he is making a movie on football, the actor doing the film will have to be good at the game. He said he is also practicing the game to get the glimpse of it and understand how disciplined is the sport. As per the director, the film will take around a year to start.
Since it will cover the time period of 1900 to 1960, he has to prepare the sets accordingly. Also, he has to carry out good research about the football practice of that particular time frame. Boney Kapoor will be producing the movie and the director has a good rapport with Kapoor and informed that he was the one who produced his first film. Hence he has great faith in him.
