Ahmedabad Plane Crash Fallout: Salman Khan’s ISRL Event Postponed, Other Major Promotions Called Off Out of Respect

The nation and the world were shaken earlier today, June 12, when news broke that a London-bound Air India flight from Ahmedabad crashed shortly after takeoff, resulting in widespread shock and sadness. In light of this tragic event, superstar Salman Khan made the decision to withdraw from a scheduled event in Mumbai.

Salman Khan was set to attend a press conference to be announced as the brand ambassador for the Indian Supercross Racing League (ISRL) at Taj Lands End. The event was to feature ISRL co-founders Veer Patel and Eeshan Lokhande, alongside a special fireside chat with Salman Khan as one of its highlights.

The event commenced at 2:15 PM, coinciding with the unfolding news of the crash. At 3:45 PM, the organizers addressed the audience, stating, “As you all know, a tragic incident occurred earlier in the day. It’s a sad time for everyone. ISRL and Mr. Salman Khan stand united with the nation during these tough times. We have jointly decided to reschedule this event, as it is not a time for celebration.”

They added, “We stand by the nation united. Our condolences and prayers are with the families of the victims. Stay strong, India.” The organizers assured the media that someone would be in touch regarding the rescheduled event and thanked them for their understanding.

Additionally, the promotional event for Kannappa, scheduled for June 13 in Indore, was also canceled. Media personnel from Mumbai were prepared to travel to Madhya Pradesh but were informed of the cancellation shortly after the crash.

Finally, the premiere of Rana Naidu Season 2, planned to take place at Chitra, a single-screen cinema in Mumbai, was also called off. The premiere was intended for media and featured the show’s actors, including Rana Daggubati, Surveen Chawla, Arjun Rampal, Kriti Kharbanda, and Sushant Singh. There were reports that fans were also expected to attend.
