Abhishek is more known as Jr. Bachchan in B town for being the son of the legendary actor of Bollywood called Amitabh Bachchan. He is a known actor, producer and even a singer of Bollywood films. He is born and brought up Mumbai. He did his schooling from Bombay Scottish School and later went to Jamnabai Narse School and finally to the Modern School, Vasant Vihar in New Delhi. Later, he headed to Switzerland for his higher studies from Aiglon College. Later he attended Boston University but had to out for the same. According to Aamir Khan in his movie Tare Zameen Par, he was dyslexic as a child but coped up with this disability to have a modest career in Bollywood. He married to the known actress and former miss world Amitabh Bachchan and a couple has a daughter.

He did his debut movie called Refugee opposite to Kareena Kapoor who also made her debut with this JP Dutta’s movie. Though the movie did not did well over the box office, however, the two got positive reviews about their performances. After this movie, he got a couple of them including Main Prem Ki Diwani Hoon, Dai Aksar Prem Ke, etc. However, he received his first award with the movie called Yuva in 2004 for playing a negative character in a political drama. The very same year, he played the character of a police officer in Dhoom and later seen in all its sequels both with Hrithik Roshan and Aamir Khan in Dhoom 2 and Dhoom 3 respectively. His next award winning performance was in the movie called Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna along with Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherji getting Filmfare award for the same.

His next successful movie was Guru, which was based loosely on the life of Dhirubhai Ambani, which he played with all his acting skills, and performance getting applauds from different sections of the B Town. Later, his movie Drona was a big flop movie, which went down both in terms of commercial and critically. His next hit movie was the sequel of Sarkar called Sarkar Raj wherein he was applauded the best for his performance in the movie. His first movie was a producer was Paa wherein he also had a role of politician played along with his father and Vidya Balan. He witnessed a setback in 2010, which continued for a couple years till 2013 wherein all his movies failed to impress both critically and commercially. These include Raavan, Game, Dum Maro Dum, Khelein Hum Jeen Jaan Se and Players.

His next successful movie was Dhoom 3, which is considered to be the biggest blockbuster in Bollywood, however, his performance was overshadowed by his co-actors including Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif, unlike the way it was witnessed in Dhoom 2. His upcoming movies include Happy New Year, All is Well as lead star opposite Asin, and Houseful 3 directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Nadiawala. Besides, he is now have ventured in sports and the owner of the Pro Kabaddi League’s franchise team called Jaipur Pink Panthers and the football team called Chennaiyin FC at Indian Super League. Also, he has actively involved in a number of social causes. He is also the brand ambassador of brands like LG Home Appliances, Videocon DTH, Ford Fiesta, American Express Credit Cards, Motorola Moviles and Idea Mobiles. He has also received the best brand ambassador award in 2009 at NDTV Techlife Awards.
