Believe it or not, Abhishek Bachchan has bagged the best actor award for the most prestigious awards from Lions Club for his role of Nandu in the film Happy New Year. Ironically, with his snake dance and hilariously weird performance, he was able to overshadow some of the best performances of Shahid Kapoor for Haider and Aamir Khan for PK. In fact, his own film had Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, whose performance was very much better and competent than any other.
It is really interesting to see how a role in a supporting cast gets the award for main lead best actor award especially when there were better and dexterous performances of Aamir and Shahid in their films PK and Haider respectively. Nonetheless, the good news is that he is the only choice of the jury of Lions Clubs Awards, and hence should be applauded for getting any award after years of working in Bollywood industry. Perhaps her mother should now call this movie a sensible one after all it helped his son to bag the awards when other failed to get the same.
