Aamir Khan Addresses Criticism and Supports Armed Forces on Aap Ki Adalat

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan made a rare and impactful appearance on Aap Ki Adalat, where he addressed long-standing criticism regarding his photographs with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his wife. He also spoke out against religious profiling and affirmed his support for India’s armed forces.
During the interview, Aamir condemned communal attacks and challenged the morality of targeting individuals based on their religion. “You are shooting at common citizens, at families. I could have been there; you could have been there. And you are questioning their religion while doing this. What does this mean?” he stated.
He emphasized that he has previously discussed these issues, noting, “I am not active on social media, so as events unfold, people often make comments there. However, I have spoken about it. When asked about the Pahalgam attack at an event, my response was clear: this attack is not only on our citizens but also on the unity of our country.”
Aamir further clarified that his statements in support of the armed forces should not be perceived as part of film promotion. “When our soldiers, our brave men, respond, is it wrong for me to speak in their favor? Should I prioritize my film over my soldiers? If that’s the case, should I remain silent? I believe that’s incorrect, so I voiced my support openly.”
When host Rajat Sharma questioned him about the timing of the trailer release for Sitaare Zameen Par, which coincided with his support for the armed forces, Aamir explained, “Actually, our film’s trailer was supposed to be released much earlier. I postponed it due to the attack on our country.” He also noted that he canceled the premiere of his cult comedy Andaz Apna Apna in light of the recent events.
Aamir addressed the backlash regarding his old photos with Turkish President Erdogan and his wife, especially considering Turkey’s recent political actions. “Turkey has done something very wrong, and every Indian has felt this… India was the first to extend help. Just like I was unaware of Erdogan’s actions when I met him, the government also did not foresee this happening after seven years,” he remarked, adding, “The viral image with Erdogan’s wife is even older than that.”
