Ganesh Acharya Turns Lyricist for First Time with ‘Kar Mehnat’, Sung by Sonu Nigam
Veteran choreographer and filmmaker Ganesh Acharya has turned lyricist for the first time with ‘Kar Mehnat’, an inspirational track from his upcoming directorial venture, Ganesh: Dust to Stardust. Sung by Sonu Nigam and composed by Junaid Kumar, the song centers on hard work, perseverance, and the determination to overcome life’s challenges.
The release of the track builds momentum ahead of the film’s scheduled nationwide theatrical debut on December 11, 2026. Having spent decades in Indian cinema as a choreographer, actor, and director, Acharya expands his creative repertoire by penning the lyrics for this motivational composition.
Reflecting on his writing debut, Acharya shared, “‘Kar Mehnat’ is a very special song for me because, for the first time, I have written lyrics for a song in my own film. I have always believed that there is no substitute for hard work. No matter who you are or where you come from, everyone has dreams, and everyone faces challenges. This song is for every person who is working hard to achieve something in life… Having Sonu Nigam lend his voice to my words makes it even more special.”

Singer Sonu Nigam praised the authenticity of the lyrics, noting that the message resonates across all walks of life. “Hard work, patience, and perseverance are emotions that everyone can relate to… What I particularly liked was the sincerity of the lyrics. Ganesh ji has expressed something very simple yet powerful,” Nigam stated.
Written and directed by Ganesh Acharya, Ganesh: Dust to Stardust is produced by Soundarya Acharya under the banner of V2S Production & Entertainment. The screenplay and dialogues were co-written by Digangana Suryavanshi and Acharya, with Junaid Kumar providing the musical score. The project features cinematography by Ajay Pandey, editing by Rakesh Ram, and lyrics by Sameer Anjaan alongside Acharya, arriving in cinemas on December 11, 2026.
