Bhooth Bangla Release Update: Akshay Kumar and Ekta Kapoor Consider One-Week Postponement Amid ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Wave
The massive box-office success of Dhurandhar: The Revenge is changing plans across the movie industry. Because the Ranveer Singh film is doing so well, the makers of Bhooth Bangla are thinking about changing their release date. Currently, the movie is set to come out on April 10, 2026, but that might change very soon.
Industry sources say the team behind the Akshay Kumar film is considering moving the release to April 17, 2026. This is because Dhurandhar 2 is still pulling in huge crowds even on weekdays. If Bhooth Bangla releases on April 10, it will have to compete with Dhurandhar 2 in its fourth week. However, moving to April 17 would give the film a solo release with no other major Hindi movies as competition.
Some experts believe it might be better to stay on the original date. They think most people will have already seen Dhurandhar 2 by then and will be ready for a new comedy. Akshay Kumar and producer Ekta Kapoor are expected to make a final decision within the next 24 hours. Their choice will also decide when the trailer is released. If the date stays the same, the trailer will drop this Friday, March 27.
Even with the date confusion, fans are very excited about Bhooth Bangla. It reunites Akshay Kumar with director Priyadarshan after nearly 16 years. The film also features a great cast, including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav. Everyone is waiting to see if the “King of Comedy” will face the competition head-on or wait for a quieter week.
