Viineet Kumar Singh and Saurabh Shukla Join Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao in Shoojit Sircar’s Mytho-Humour Film

Shoojit Sircar, celebrated for his heartfelt and witty films like Vicky Donor (2012), Piku (2015), October (2024), Sardar Udham (2021), and the recent I Want To Talk (2024), is gearing up for his next big venture—his first-ever mytho-humour entertainer. A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “This film marks Shoojit Sircar’s much-anticipated return to humour. Known for blending warmth, wit, and sharp observations in his work, Shoojit is now exploring an exciting new territory with this unique mytho-humour project.”

The buzz around the film is growing, fueled by the ambitious scale of its production. “A grand, elaborate set inspired by a key chapter of the Mahabharat is being crafted by National Award-winning production designer Mansi Dhruv Mehta, who also worked on Sardar Udham. The set combines mythology with a modern, satirical perspective,” the source added. The star-studded cast continues to expand.

Alongside Manoj Bajpayee and Rajkummar Rao, the film has now welcomed versatile actors Saurabh Shukla and Viineet Kumar Singh. Both are known for their impeccable blend of humour and drama, and their presence promises to add fresh energy to this inventive retelling. While talking about the film, it is produced by Rising Sun Films and Kino Works, and backed by Ronnie Lahiri and Sheel Kumar, the film is currently in full-scale pre-production with set construction underway. Shooting is expected to begin in early 2026.

With its distinctive mytho-humour approach, a visually striking Mahabharat-inspired set, and a powerhouse cast led by Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao, Saurabh Shukla, and Viineet Kumar Singh, Shoojit Sircar’s upcoming project is already attracting keen interest from both industry insiders and cinephiles. If successful, it could mark a refreshing return for the filmmaker to comedy while pioneering a genre that seamlessly blends mythology, satire, and emotion for contemporary audiences.
