Pakistani Actress Humaira Asghar Ali Found Dead in Karachi Apartment

Pakistani actress and model Humaira Asghar Ali was discovered dead in her apartment in Karachi’s upscale Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Phase VI on Tuesday, July 8. The 32-year-old was found by police in a severely decomposed state. Police officials estimate that Humaira had passed away nearly two weeks before her body was found. The grim discovery followed concerns raised by her landlord, who, unable to reach her and worried over unpaid rent, initiated legal eviction proceedings. Acting on a court order, Gizri police visited her apartment in the Ittehad Commercial area at around 3:15 pm. Receiving no response, officers forced entry into the locked flat, which was emitting a strong foul odor.

South Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Syed Asad Raza confirmed that “the apartment was locked from the inside, including the balcony door.” Authorities noted no immediate signs of foul play at the scene.Forensic experts from the Crime Scene Unit were called in to collect evidence, and Humaira’s body was taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for further examination. Dr. Summaiya Syed, a police surgeon at JPMC, stated that due to the advanced decomposition, “the cause of death remains reserved.” The investigation is ongoing, with police awaiting the postmortem report to determine the exact cause.

Reports indicate Humaira had been living alone in the rented apartment and had not paid rent for several months. Authorities are currently attempting to locate her relatives by reviewing her mobile phone records.Humaira Asghar was known for her appearance on ARY’s reality show Tamasha Ghar and her role in the 2015 film Jalaibee.
