8 years of Chennai Express: Let’s go down the memory lane with the unforgettable film starring Shah Rukh Khan & Deepika Padukone
Everything about the film was loved by die-hard SRK and Deepika fans, whether it was Deepika’s character Meenalochni ‘Meenamma’ Azhagusundaram or Deepika and Shah Rukh’s romance. The movie went on to do extremely well at the box office.
The songs of ‘Chennai Express’ were full of moments filled with pleasure and romance in equal measure, from ‘Lungi Dance’ to ‘Thangabali,’ and from ‘Titli’ to ‘Kashmir Main Tu Kanyakumari.’
Not only was Deepika Padukone’s Southern character, in the action-comedy, amongst the most loved in the history of cinema but her signature dialogues and scenes from ‘Thangabali’ to ‘Bakwaas Dictionary’ too still flood social media platforms.
With the film celebrating 8 years today, in a way, Deepika too celebrates 8 years of reigning on the numero uno spot in the Hindi film industry – a significant feat that very few have managed to achieve in their career span.
This film is my personal favorite and I can watch it everytime it comes on the Television.
Now that Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are coming together again for Pathan, we can’t wait to watch them together on screen again and spread some magic. The film also stars John Abraham and will see Salman Khan making a cameo as his character Tiger from the Tiger film franchise.
