Ali Abbas Zafar shares the story of naming Bharat and other films
The Sultan fame director Ali Abbas Zafar is all set to embark upon his next film – Bharat starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. This is his third film with Salman Khan and second with Katrina Kaif. The director shared a story about the mythology that he has considered while perfecting the title of the film called Bharat. The film is all set to hit during the eve of Eid on 5th June and happens to be an official remake of a Korean film Ode To My Father.
As per the director was impressed with the Korean drama and wanted to sync it as per the Indian sensibilities. This started with naming the film and going beyond it fixing things right. He said he did not want to name the same title or anything close to it. He said he did not want to restrict the film with the promise he made to his father but more than that. He wanted to make the film the journey of the nation. He said that he just wanted to know what the character’s name in the film.
He said since Salman Khan was the lead actor of the film, he had to rewrite the entire film and make it accordingly, which started finding a name that suits him and the film as well. He then said he took resort to the Hindu Mythology and since Ram is an ideal hero of the same, he then thought of naming the film as Arjun as he has a man who does all his dharma. He then said that he felt that the film’s character is very much similar to the nation’s journey and thus it came with the name right on his bed at 3 AM.
