Post Dhaakad’s failure, Kangana Ranaut calls herself ‘Box Office Queen Of India’

Dhaakad, starring Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut, was one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film was linked with high anticipation, but it unexpectedly bombed at the box office. On its opening day, Razneesh Ghai’s film grossed less than Rs 1 crore at the box office.

On May 20, the action film faced a battle against Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 at the box office. While Anees Bazmee’s picture did well at the box office, Kangana’s film struggled to gain traction, and shows were soon cancelled.

Kangana Ranaut has spoken out about Dhaakad’s box office debacle over two weeks after its release. She declared herself the ‘box office queen of India’ on Instagram stories. She wrote, “2019 I gave Manikarnika 160 cr ka superhit hit, 2020 was covid year. 2021 I gave the biggest film of my career Thalaivii which came on OTT and was a huge success.”

Kangana further added, “I see a lot of negativity but 2020 is the year of a blockbuster—lock up hosting. And it’s not over yet…I have great hopes with it.” Take a look at an Instagram story that the actress had shared:

Meanwhile, Kangana Ranaut is working on a number of projects. After concluding filming on her production, ‘Tiku Weds Sheru,’ starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Avneet Kaur, she has already began preparations for the political drama ‘Emergency.’ She will also be seen in the film ‘Tejas,’ where she will play an Air Force pilot.

Aside from that, Kangana’s next projects include ‘Manikarnika Returns: The Legend of Didda’ and ‘Sita: The Incarnation.’
