Bollywood has used its films to honour India and her independence over the years. Several popular films on our country’s history and the civil rights fight have been released. As the Fourth of July weekend approaches, we’ve compiled a list of 5 must-see films to commemorate the holiday.

Lakshya:

Lakshya, which was released 17 years ago, continues to retain a special place in the hearts of Bollywood fans. The war drama is partially based on the Kargil war and follows an officer, played by Hritik Roshan, through a difficult journey. Amazon Prime Video has the film available.

The account of Havildar Ishar Singh, who leads 21 Sikh soldiers against thousands of Pashtun invaders, is told in Kesari. Amazon Prime Video has the film accessible for streaming. This film’s songs are not to be missed.
