The film deals with a Rajput girl called Zoya Solanki who is an advertising professional. Although she remains unlucky in her life by losing boyfriends to jobs and other things in her personal life but somewhere down the line ends becoming the lucky charm of Indian Cricket during the 2011 Cricket World Cup. So, what goes next is interesting to explore catching the movie on your nearby screen. The film is based on a novel with the same title by Anujha Chavhan.
Zoya Factor Review
The issue of lucky charm has been in place in our society and also has been reflected in Indian movies like the Shahid Kapur & Vidya Balan film Kismat Konnection. In a sense it is not a new topic, however, the way the film is portrayed is different from the earlier ones. The film seems to have an interesting story, which might appear to be an orthodox, but the makers were successful in presenting it in a decent manner. Although one can find some hits and misses in the execution part. The first half remains interesting with humor and romance, while the second one turns a bit pale and boring as it somewhere mismatches the content and delivery part on the silver screen.
Talking about the performances, there seemed to be decent showcase by the lead actors particularly Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan playing Zoya and Nikhil Khoda the Indian Cricket Captain. Sonam has played well in the role of an ad professional. She is good at playing a modern lass and a professional, her previous movies in such roles have proven that fact, which makes her an ideal choice for such films. Dulquer Salmaan too has done a decent job with his second Bollywood movie. The others also did well, while talking about the other aspects of the film like direction, music, screenplay and other things, they seemed okay and somewhere helped to boost up the entertainment value of the film.
The Zoya Factor Last Word
The film has all the elements one can wish for any typical Bollywood film. However, it can be a one time watch of course not for the Sonam Kapoor fans for obvious reasons. It can be a decent watch this weekend if you want to try something light and sporty.
