Zero & KGF 1st Weekend Box Office Collection

The passing Friday had two movies – the much-hyped SRK starrer movie Zero, and the Yash starring film KGF. Both the films had decent hype in the media that helped the film to get a decent box office collection. Well, let’s talk about the film Zero starring Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead role. The film had a decent collection at the box office on the first day, however, looking at the first-weekend collection, it went down and underperformed against the expectations of the makers. With around 4400 screens, the film had a decent count but the way it has performed in the first weekend, it failed to gain the figure it as expecting.

Zero collected around 20.14 Crores on the first day, but Saturday witnessed a slow down with collection slipping to 18.22 Crores. Sunday was a bit higher figure with collection reaching to 21 Crores. So, the first-weekend box office collection for Zero reached to around 59.36 Crores at the box office. This is still a decent figure, but the makers were expecting about 100 crores in the first weekend, nevertheless with 25th December as Christmas Holiday, we can expect some surge, and it can get the film to 100 crore club. Now, let’s talk about the South Indian movie KGF. The film bagged also bagged similar figure on the first weekend, however, the screen counts were low at 2500.

The film was released in Hindi along with other South Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam. The film collected around 18.1 Crore on the first day, while the second the collection went to approximately 19.20 Crores. The Sunday for KGF came big and bolder giving the makers a huge collection of 22.50 Crores. So, the first-weekend box office collection went to around 59.8 Crores. With the Christmas day, the film will manage to enter into the 100 Crores. Although the film faced the competition heat from the Shah Rukh Khan movie Zero, it still manages to survive with this collection beating the competition in many ways. Stay tuned to know more about the films, and do comment on the same if you have anything to say.
