Vikram Vedha Review: Hrithik Roshan & Saif Ali Khan serve a hot platter of ‘masala-entertainer’!

Vikram Vedha Movie Review

Movie Name: Vikram Vedha
Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Saif Ali Khan
Director: Pushkar and Gayatri

Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Story:

The Vikram Betaal tale is a well-known one. Many people’s favorite childhood books have a king named Vikram who has a ghoul named Betaal attached to his back and asks him to tell stories if he wants to escape his grasp. Because narrative is a universal concept, the storyline illuminates every nook and cranny of our mind. We are compelled to pay attention to every speech that starts with the words “Once upon a time, long, long ago.” The movie Vikram Vedha, directed by Pushkar and Gayatri, is exactly that.

Review:

The movie Vikram Vedha, directed by Pushkar-Gayatri and starring Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan, is a remake of the same name from 2017, which had R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupati in the key roles. The plot of VV is quite straightforward and linear, which makes it interesting to watch.

A police officer named Vikram (Saif Ali Khan) has been tasked with apprehending a thug by the name of Vedha (Hrithik Roshan). As obvious as it may seem, the film’s treatment is what sets it apart. It’s not your typical cop-goon chase movie, Vikram Vedha. The movie is quite entertaining to watch because it has many layers and ancillary characters. The crucial turn occurs when Vedha surrenders and enters a police station rather than fleeing Vikram. He made a crazy, illogical decision to do this. Following his submission, Vedha begins telling Vikram tales from his past. Are these real or made-up? Will Vikram believe Vedha’s stories and how far can he trust him? The film examines the liminal spaces between good and wrong.

The dialogue writers, Manoj Muntashir and BA Fida, are the other cornerstones of this masterful performance in addition to Pushkar and Gayatri, who are the ship’s captains. They use razor-sharp language and write with the general public in mind. The two leading guys in the movie are supported by every aspect of the production, including the background music and the camera work. The writing and what’s happening on screen are so closely synchronized that it makes the movie beautiful.

Vikram Vedha Star Performances:

The confidence Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan have in their acting abilities is what gives them their magic. There is never a need to take things lightly or to accomplish more. He communicates a lot with his eyes, his facial emotions, and his body language throughout the majority of the crucial sequences. For his part, he practically acts as a conduit for the words that have been penned.

In the role of Vikram, Saif Ali Khan enhances every motion. His command of each and every word he says in the film is outstanding. In the strangest way possible, the confrontation and dialogue exchanges between Hrithik and Saif are nearly hypnotic and mesmerizing.

The background music by Sam C S gives each scene life. Vishal-Shekhar’s interpretation of the well-known song Karuppu Vellai is as innovative and original as the directors’ attempt to remake the movie. The concept of keeping the original singer and composer inspires VS to create “Bande,” a song that fuses mainstream music with heavy metal influences. Alchohia is a whole package with some killer EDM use, stunning fluid choreography by Ganesh Hegde, and surreal camera movement achieved by P. S. Vinod’s cinematography.

On the other hand, the movie is excessively long and indulgent. The makers appear hesitant to let go of material that is on the edit table, especially in the endeavor to stylize and do the slow-mo action scenes. The supporting actors Yogita Bihani and Rohit Saraf needed more effective scenes. Radhika Apte, who plays Vikram’s wife, could have been given a more significant role. By giving the two main protagonists all the attention, the writers neglect to provide other voices that would have provided a different perspective and equal screen time.

Vikram Vedha Verdict:

Without a doubt, Vikram Vedha is a massy entertainer. In every shot, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan are serving you hot, new entertainment. It revives Bollywood‘s long-lost “heroism”!
