Yash Raj Films Adopts Mega Blockbuster Pricing for War 2, Matching Ticket Rates with Pushpa 2

With less than a week remaining until the release of War 2, one of the most anticipated Hindi films of 2025, excitement among fans is steadily building. Advance ticket bookings will officially open tomorrow, August 10, ramping up the buzz even further. Meanwhile, Bollywood Hungama has learned that the film’s producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), have finalized a premium pricing strategy for the movie’s theatrical release.

A trade insider revealed, “YRF has directed cinemas to adopt mega blockbuster pricing for War 2. Given the film’s huge anticipation and its status as one of the biggest releases across languages and industries this year, this pricing is fully justified. Cinemas have agreed, confident that demand will be exceptionally high due to the star cast, broad audience appeal, the extended holiday season, and the popularity of the YRF Spy Universe.”

Another source added, “Since it’s classified under the mega blockbuster category, ticket prices are expected to align with those for Pushpa 2 – The Rule,” referring to the previous film that set a benchmark for premium pricing.

This move echoes YRF’s earlier strategy with the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan, also part of the Spy Universe. Back in January 2023, YRF had requested cinemas to implement blockbuster pricing for Pathaan, matching rates of the 3D version of Brahmastra (2022). However, War 2 is expected to command even higher ticket prices due to its mega blockbuster status.

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 features Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani in pivotal roles. The original War (2019), directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Hrithik Roshan alongside Tiger Shroff, was the biggest hit of its year.
