Yash Chopra Foundation Introduces YCF Saathi App for Digital Support to Empower Hindi Film Workers

Yash Raj Films’ philanthropic arm, the Yash Chopra Foundation (YCF), has introduced the YCF Saathi App, an easily accessible digital tool for ‘Saathis’ as part of its comprehensive livelihood support initiative. YCF’s Saathis are individuals registered as members of the Hindi Film Federation.

Aditya Chopra, the chair and MD of Yash Raj Films (YRF), had previously launched the Saathi Card to provide health insurance, school fee allowances, food rations, and other benefits to the industry’s daily wage earners and their families. Additionally, YCF facilitated free vaccinations for Hindi film workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, YCF has positively impacted the lives of over 15,000 people within the Hindi film fraternity.

Now, as part of the new Saathi initiative, the company has launched the ‘YCF Saathi App’ to broaden its reach and support for its beneficiaries. As part of its 2024 action plan, the Saathi Program aims to benefit over 1500 new workers.

Shamim Bano Samir Shaikh, a film worker and beneficiary of the program, expressed, “I faced a tragic accident in June that left me in a wheelchair. It was an unexpected and challenging phase of my life. YCF health card is nothing short of a lifeline. I am grateful to YCF for their Saathi Program initiative.”

The Yash Chopra Foundation strives to provide essential support to its beneficiaries through the ‘Saathi Program’. The application form for new entries will be available from 1st to 20th February 2024.

The YCF Saathi App represents a significant step towards ensuring the welfare and empowerment of individuals within the Hindi film industry. By leveraging digital technology, the YCF aims to streamline access to vital resources and support systems for its Saathis, thereby fostering a stronger and more resilient community.

The expansion of the Saathi Program underlines the Yash Chopra Foundation’s unwavering commitment to uplifting the lives of those who form the backbone of the film fraternity. Through this initiative, the Foundation continues to demonstrate its dedication to providing holistic assistance and opportunities for growth to its beneficiaries, furthering its mission of creating a more inclusive and supportive industry ecosystem.
