Chehre and Bell Bottom were more than just movies; they were a ray of hope for theatres!

For more than a year, India’s entertainment industry has been one of the most severely impacted industries. The announcement of a statewide lockdown by the Indian government had a direct impact on persons working in the entertainment business, from technical crew/spot guys to theatre staff and teams.

Although the relaxation of the COVID ban allowed filmmakers to begin shooting with fewer restrictions on public gatherings, theatres in several Indian states remain closed. Furthermore, locations or states where the theatres have reopened are only operating at 50% capacity.

Taking advantage of the allowances established for theatre owners following the second shutdown, filmmakers such as Chehre and Bell-Bottom stepped up to assist this sector. The theatrical premiere of these two films has inspired theatre owners and distributors to reclaim their strength and stand tall once more.

Chehre, produced by Aanand Pandit, was scheduled to be released in 2019 and 2020, but the filmmakers chose to postpone the release due to a number of factors. There were rumours that the picture will have a digital premiere, but the filmmakers were determined to give their labour of love a theatrical release. Even Emraan Hashmi believed that it was the obligation of the filmmakers to hold firm with the distributors, and as a result, the picture was only recently released in theatres.

With all of the restrictions in place since March 2020, theatre owners are smiling today since both Chehre and Bell Bottom have been released in theatres and are doing well.
