Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri Faces Single-Screen Release Challenges Amid Dhurandhar’s Dominance; Raj Mandir Screening a Big Win for Dharma

The last major film of 2025, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, released today but is struggling to secure screens due to the unstoppable box office wave of Dhurandhar. Bollywood Hungama, which first reported these challenges, now provides an update on the film’s limited reach and the impact on other releases. An exhibition source revealed that many single-screen cinemas in Mumbai, including Regal, Gold Cinema Santacruz, Gold Cinema Dadar, Chitra, Plaza, and others, will continue to screen Dhurandhar exclusively on December 25. Distributors believe the film is performing exceptionally well and have been reluctant to reduce its shows before the new week starts on December 26. Meanwhile,
Dharma Productions’ in-house distribution team is actively working to increase Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri’s screen count from December 26 onward. Some theatres like Anand, MovieTime Star City, and MovieTime Dahisar have outright declined to screen the Kartik Aaryan-Ananya Panday starrer, opting to run Dhurandhar through the weekend. Interestingly, PVR Le Reve in Bandra, known for screening niche films, will be among the few to show Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri daily at 3:35 pm.A major positive development came from Jaipur’s iconic Raj Mandir theatre.
While it screens Dhurandhar today, from December 26 onward, it will exclusively show Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri—a significant victory for Dharma and a hopeful sign for other single screens in Mumbai and beyond. With Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri battling for screens, smaller and regional films face even tougher challenges. The Hindi-dubbed Vrusshabha and Marathi film Gotya Gangster have very limited screenings in Mumbai. Gujarati film Vande Bharat Via USA has a decent run in Gujarat but could have done better if released on a less crowded date, raising questions about scheduling decisions.
Holdover films are also suffering. Kapil Sharma’s Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, despite steady audiences and positive word-of-mouth, has been pushed to a single 105-seat auditorium at Gaiety-Galaxy. A trade insider lamented the film’s raw deal in its second week, especially given its appreciation from audiences.Similarly, Tere Ishq Mein has been reduced to just two cinemas in Mumbai.Meanwhile, Avatar: Fire And Ash continues to hold ground against Dhurandhar. Despite underwhelming overall performance, it attracted a respectable audience, selling 86,000 tickets across national chains for Christmas Day alone, a noteworthy feat amid stiff competition.
