Actress Priyanka Chopra has been appointed as the jury member of the upcoming 16th edition of Tribeca Film Festival. Filmmaker Amy Berg, actors Zachary Quinto and Willem Dafoe, and TV producer Sheila Nevins among others will also be on the jury, it was announced on Wednesday, reports hollywoodreporter.com. Priyanka, who became a popular name in Hollywood through her lead role in TV series Quantico, will look after the 2017 Documentary and Student Visionary Competitions alongside Olivia Thirlby, Ryan Eggold, Brendan Fraser and Ileen Gallagher.
The winners of each category will be announced at the Tribeca Film Festival Awards ceremony on April 27 at BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. The music of the film is being given by none other than the maestro himself, A.R Rahman. It is highly anticipated film amongst sports fan as the batsman himself will be portraying the lead role. Interestingly, the docu-feature on Sachin Tendulkar will be simultaneously released in Marathi on May 26. Given the fact that Sachin is a Maharashtrian, the makers felt it was only apt to have a dubbed version in ‘aamchi’ language.
Sachin A Billion is set to release on May 26, 2017. The film will clash with Behen Hogi Teri. Directed by Ajay K Pannalal, the film – said to be a romantic comedy – also stars Gautam Gulati and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The festival, from April 19-30, will be hosted by Michael Rapaport. Apart from this PeeCee is currently gearing up for her upcoming Hollywood debut Baywatch. Actress Priyanka Chopra will be seen in a negative role in the movie Baywatch which is set to release in May, next year.
