Thalaivii Box Office: The Kangana Ranaut starrer film takes a slow start
Amid all the buzz and fuss, the Kangana Ranaut starrer film Thalaivii hit the screens. The film managed to get a decent review by most of the critics and audiences, however, if you look at the way it performed at the box office, we get a lousy figure. As far as the collection is concerned, it is not at all surprising to see how the collection has remained so low. As the known multiplex chains have given up the idea of screening the movie, the single screens have faced the occupancy problem as well.Â
The film managed to score only 25 lakhs on day one, while the second day had a similar collection for the biopic and with a little bit of increase on the first Sunday collection. The experts feel that since the makers only were relying on theatrical release, and they opted out of the OTT platform, thus facing the loss was so obvious. With these factors, the collection has remained low with Saturday and Sunday coming in at 30 lakhs and 50 lakhs respectively.Â
With these figures, the 1st-weekend box office collection for Thalaivii has reached 1.05 Crores. Thus it would be fair to say that the makers will not be able to gain the cost of their operations of screening their movie. Perhaps, the makers are likely to gain some from the streaming giant as they intend to release it on Netflix after several weeks. The word of mouth for the film is down and other factors like multiplexes not allowing its release have caused all the damage.
