Shamita Shetty is an actress who was born and brought up in Mangalore, Karnataka. Besides an actor, she is also a model and interior designer. She was born on 2nd February 1979, and did her schooling from Mangalore only and then shifted to Mumbai. She completed her graduation in commerce from Sydenham College, Mumbai and later completed her fashion designing course from the known SNDT College. She then took up an internship at the known fashion designer – Manish Malhotra, however, the known designer suggested her to opt for acting and modelling. Also, she realised that she is good in interior designing hence pursued her passion apart from trying her luck in acting.

Shamita Shetty career, it started with interior designing getting her first venture of designing a Mumbai based club called Royalty. She then took the passion seriously pursuing a full-time diploma program from the prestigious institute based in London called Central Saint Martins and Inch bald School of Design. Her career in B Town started with the Yash Raj movie called Mohabbatein in 2000 playing Ishika in it. She also bagged her debut award for her role in 2001 IIFA Award. Soon she was seen doing a dance number “Sharara Sharara” in yet another Yash Raj movie called Mere Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai in 2001, and it followed another as “Chori Pe Chori” in Saathiya the following year. Her next venture was Zeher where she played a lady cop and her performance was applauded. She was even nominated at the Stardust awards.

Some of her other ventures include Cash and Bewafa. The others include Fareb, Heyy Baby, Mohabbat Ho Gayi Hai Tumse, and Hari Puttar to name a few. Her Tamil movie was Naan Aval Adhu and she is currently doing a web series called Yo Ke Hua Bro. Her upcoming movie is The Tenant where she is playing the role of Meera. She is also appeared in TV and currently the part of the reality show called Kathro Ke Khiladi as a participant. In 2009, she appeared in Bigg Boss in its second season. She also appeared in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa in the season 8 and she was declared as the runner up of the show. As said, she is also into modeling, she has worked for different brand endorsing products for brands like Audi, Aldo, and IIJAS Jewellery exhibition to name a few. Talking about her personal life, she is still single and dating no one.
