Vidya Balan is among the few faces in B Town who has done several women-centric movies. With films like Kahaani, The Dirty Picture and others, she has dominated in this domain giving some of the best films to the B Town audience. Also, her upcoming movie Mission Mangal to has similar stature for the lady. She is playing the lady scientistic from ISRO who has an interesting role in the film proving women empowerment. Also, she is gearing up for another biopic on mathematical genius Shakunthala Devi, which will be directed by Anu Menon and will hit the screens during summers 2020.
It was this film for which she had to opt-out from the Jayalalithaa biopic. Talking about the same, she said it is interesting experience for her to play this character. She said she was just five when she solved her first typical maths problem that becomes often a challenge for even the college students. The film is likely to hit the screen this October. Both films came at the same time and she had to choose between the two. Hence rather considering a film based on a strong politician and a tough personality like Jayalalithaa, she chose the one of the Math genius.
Now, the Jayalalithaa biopic has gone to the Kangana Ranaut’s kitty. She is now gearing up for the same. Also, Vidya Balan is getting another biopic of an iron lady called Indira Gandhi, which she calls a far better option than the other. However, this will be a web series, which will be produced by Ronnie Screwvala. Also, she said she would require lots of time in preparing for the biopics, hence to cut down the time and other difficulties, she chose to focus on Indira Gandhi web series thus leaving the other.
