Why Dinesh Vijan released his film Angrezi Medium the despite theatre shutdown?
As the Dinesh Vijan produced film Angrezi Medium hit the screens, the film has only got 2.75 Crores at the box office. Despite the coronavirus outbreak that led the theatre shutdown witnessed the film hitting the screens. The film, however, witnessed a slow start on its first day all thanks to the shut down of theatres at many places like Delhi and other areas. Even the overseas locations based in UAE and other nations in the Middle East are also witnessing the same.
Despite knowing the slow down the makers decided to release the film on the said day. As a precautionary measure, the business of the films these days are getting hampered in a big day. Delhi’s government too has announced the theatre shutdown but Dinesh Vijan the producer in an interview with a tabloid reveals why he chose to release the film. Dinesh Vijan said that since he has already dispatched the prints overseas, hence did not think of taking his decision back to release the film on the said day.
Dinesh further said that despite all the hype for the virus, the movie took a decent start on the first day. He is expecting a decent surge in the coming first Saturday and Sunday as well. Well, let’s see how things would move but at the moment Dinesh the producer of the film is expecting a good surge in the coming times. The makers are also planning to re-release the movie in theatres which are shutdown. The movie gives the comeback of Irrfan Khan who has been away for his brain tumor treatment.
