What Prompts Punjab MP to Question the Presence of CM’s Security Personnel and Land Cruisers at Raghav Chadha’s Wedding?
Punjab MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal on Saturday alleged that hundreds of Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann’s security men and bullet-proof land cruisers were deployed for duty at the wedding of Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha and actress Parineeti Chopra.
Calling Chadha Kejriwal’s “blue-eyed boy”, Badal said it is no wonder that the Punjab governor has been asking the government how it spent the ₹50,000 crore loan that it took in the last 18 months.
Delhi BJP leaders had also questioned the expenses of the wedding, with some alleging that Chadha, who shows an annual income of ₹2.44 lakh in his election affidavit, booked the Maharaja Suite at the Leela Palace Hotel in Udaipur for ₹10 lakh per night for his wedding.
The allegations have sparked a political row in Punjab, with the AAP dismissing them as baseless and motivated by political vendetta. Bollywood actor Parineeti Chopra and AAP MP Raghav Chadha are set to get married in Udaipur today, September 24, following a series of pre-wedding events. The couple studied together at the London School of Economics and have been friends for a long time.
