It is a just a month to lose the veteran actor Kader Khan who left this immortal world. His sudden demise in Canada creates a negative fuss among his fans who were on the verge of celebrating New Year Day eve. Soon when R Day was supposed to join us, we heard that the Ministry of Cultural affair had enlisted a list of awards for different actors and veterans and it included even the late actor as well. He was awarded Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian Cinema. This really made Kader Khan’s fans happy; however, they also missed him when the announcement was made from the National Capital.
The media came in touch with his son Sarfaraz Khan who was asked to accept the honours on behalf of his late father, which was bestowed by the Indian Government. Talking about the award, he said that it is the result of his father’s hard work and he would undoubtedly accept the award for him. He said I am just doing it for the sake of my father and said it is an honor for him that people still remember him after his death and confer with this reputed award. He said this shows how God is happy with him and that has made him get the award as well.
The late actor has done more than 300 movies in his career of 4 decades. Right from playing negative roles in films like Mard, Coolie and Kurbani, he shifted his base from negative roles to comedy ones like Coolie No. 1, Dulhe Raja, Rajaji, Dulhan Hum Leyenge, Hero No. 1, and most of the No.1 series of David Dhawan. His roles in movies like Mujh Se Shaadi Karogi and Bol Radha Bol have been remembered for his perfect comic timing. It is sad to see how we lose our veteran actors in places like Toronto, and his fans even missed him attending his funeral there in Canada.
