War 2: The Most Expensive and Ambitious Film in the YRF Spy Universe, Check Trailer
The upcoming film War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr., has become the most anticipated release in Indian cinema. The trailer, launched just a day ago, created a massive buzz for its breathtaking visuals and scale. This YRF Spy Universe saga promises to deliver six unique action sequences, designed to thrill audiences during the Independence Day 2025 weekend. Many are already saying War 2 matches global filmmaking standards, and now we know why.
A trade source revealed to Bollywood Hungama that War 2 is the most expensive and ambitious film in the YRF Spy Universe to date. “The film’s budget stands at Rs. 400 crores, surpassing the budgets of Tiger 3 (Rs. 350 crores) and Pathaan (Rs. 325 crores). This figure excludes the marketing budget allocated for print and publicity,” the source disclosed.The star cast’s remuneration is equally staggering. NTR Jr. reportedly received Rs. 70 crores, while Hrithik Roshan secured an upfront fee of Rs. 50 crores, along with a back-end profit-sharing deal. Kiara Advani has been paid Rs. 15 crores, and Anil Kapoor Rs. 10 crores.
Collectively, the acting fees amount to approximately Rs. 150 crores, with director Ayan Mukerji earning Rs. 30 crores. The remaining Rs. 220 crores have been invested in creating the film’s spectacular scale and visuals. The trade source confirmed, “The grandeur and action sequences of War 2 will take the audience on an unforgettable cinematic journey.”
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is scheduled to release on August 14, 2025. It continues the legacy of the YRF Spy Universe, which began in 2012 with Ek Tha Tiger.
