The last time we saw the filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri was in the film The Tashkent Files. The film did moderate business but the kind of content it dealt in the media was incredible. The film managed to get a good reviews by the critics but the kind of content it carried seemed to have little impact in the media. The filmmaker is known to take up the sensitive issues and this time he has decided to touch the issue of Kashmiri Pandit that has remained refugees.

In fact, he always wanted to explore the issue of Kashmir Pandit since for a while, and he gets his time for the venture, he is finds this time to explore the issue and find this as an apt time to make a film on this issue. Talking about the project he said that he has titled the film as The Kashmir Files and then talked about how kids and adults both have to suffer with this issue. He said how they have to leave their home overnight is a plight still untold to the people.

He said he wants to first explore the issue by investigating it and them make a film that remains close to the reality. He also plans to visit the places where Kashmir Pandit have been living since they were displaced and talk to them. He then wants to meet the politicians and activists who have worked in this area.  He wants to break the stereotype attached the Indian party that has remained in a poor light. He said that he is still researching the subjects and issues related to it and then would embark with a script.
