AICWA Condemns Attack on Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan’s Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 Crew in Prayagraj
Bollywood actors Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, along with the entire team of their upcoming romantic comedy Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, endured a shocking attack during their shoot in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. Reports confirm that local miscreants assaulted the film crew in broad daylight, exposing serious security lapses for film productions in the region. In response, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has issued a strong statement condemning the incident.
Videos circulating on social media over the past two days show the crew being physically attacked while shooting on location. AICWA’s statement denounced the violence and raised urgent questions about the safety of filmmakers, actors, and technicians working in an environment where law and order appear compromised. The association remarked, “If the Uttar Pradesh Government cannot provide safety and security to those engaged in film production, then what is the purpose of promoting Noida Film City as a shooting hub?”
Emphasizing the seriousness of the event, AICWA highlighted the negative impact on both Prayagraj’s reputation and the broader film industry. “Prayagraj is globally known for the historic Kumbh Mela, a testament to India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. Yet, incidents like this tarnish the city’s image internationally. Instead of being remembered for peace and culture, Prayagraj is making headlines for lawlessness and attacks on film artists,” the association stated.

AICWA has put forth three urgent demands: the immediate filing of an FIR against those responsible for the violence, implementation of strict and foolproof security protocols for all film shoots across Uttar Pradesh, and restoration of trust among producers, actors, and technicians to safeguard Noida Film City’s reputation as a secure filming destination.
The association also appealed directly to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, urging decisive action to prevent such disgraceful incidents and reassure the film fraternity about their safety.
Pati Patni Aur Woh 2, directed by Mudassar Aziz, is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 hit romantic comedy. Alongside Ayushmann and Sara, it stars Wamiqa Gabbi in a key role and features an ensemble cast. Despite the security scare, the production team is continuing to wrap up shooting in Prayagraj.
