Varun Sharma was a casting assistant before coming to films, ‘Fukrey’ changed his life

Varun Sharma discusses his acting journey in the interview. Varun said that he was interested in acting since school days. When he arrived in Mumbai, he initially worked as a casting assistant. He cast actors in films like ‘Talaash’, ‘Student of the Year’, ‘Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani’.
Varun explains that ‘I have worked in Punjabi films besides Hindi. After ‘Fukrey’ I did one or two Punjabi films. However, I have now joined full time Hindi films. If I get a chance, I would definitely like to do Punjabi films again.
Varun further says that ‘the posters of films used to impress me. I used to think that if I am on the poster of a film and they seem to be in place then it is very important for me. I always dreamed that I could come on the film’s poster. Coming into films, I started doing comedy but before that when I used to do theater, I never did comedy. After ‘Fukrey’ I also felt myself that I can make people laugh. ‘
Varun says that ‘I started by making people laugh. I feel happy that I am able to make people laugh with my work. If anyone is getting even a little pleasure from my acting then nothing is bigger for me than that. This is how my journey went.
