Vijay Sethupathi Says Goodbye to cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan Biopic
Ever since the film based on Sri Lanka’s legendary spinner Muttiah Muralitharan was announced, it has been making news for all wrong reasons. We saw trends like Shame on Vijay and others on social media. This has mounted loads of pressure on the leading man. Now, we hear that the actor has pulled his name out for the biopic once he saw the cricketer warning about the backlash from the Indian Tamil Community.
As per the recent buzz, we also saw a couple of Tamil based politicians also accusing the cricketer who retired from Test Cricket in 2010 for betraying his fellow Tamils in his own country in the civil war that ended up in the year 2009. This has added more pressure on the 42 year old South Indian actor – Vijay. He went on to call off his name from the film called 800, which is named as per the number of wicket records made by the said cricketer in his test career.
This has come in the backdrop o f the comment of the cricketer when he said he does not want to see the finest actor in the South Indian world facing any kind of backlash in his community. This made the actor opt out of this venture, he announced his exit with a tweet of thanks and bye, check it out as under:
#muthaiyamuralitharan biopic &asking @VijaySethuOffl not to act?do these people hav no work??why not ask @SunRisers why he is the head coach, team belongs to a Tamilian with political affiliations?VSP is an actor, and do not curb an actor. VSP&cricket both don’t warrant nonsense
