Vicky Kaushal is no more an unknown name when it comes to an accomplished actor in B Town. He hails from Mumbai itself born and brought in a Punjabi family. His father is a known action director in Bollywood. His brother Sunny Kaushal is assistant director and has worked with films like My Friend Pinto and Gunday. He did his schooling from Mumbai followed by doing his Bachelor’s in Engineering in Electronics and Telecom. He had some job offers in the telecom sector; however, he declined the same as he wanted to be an actor. Soon he joined a theatre group to brush his acting skills.

He attended the acting workshop under the banner of Kishore Namit Kapoor and soon got some small roles in movies like Bombay Velvet and Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. He then was seen in a short film, Geek Out. He continued doing theatres working with veterans like Naseeruddin Shah and Manav Kaul.  He also assisted with Anurag Kashyap in films like Gangs of Wasseypur I and II. Soon he was called for the audition for the film called Masaan. Despite having Punjabi background, he convinced with his acting skills and thus roped in for the film, which was picked up by the Cannes Film Festival giving him a good exposure.

Also, the film got rave reviews and got one special jury award. The international media wrote about his performance in Masaan giving him the next film called Zubaan, which was directed by Mozez Singh. He has two more movies releasing, which include the serial killer based film called Raman Raghav 2.0 wherein he will play the character of a cop and the next is the film – Manmarziyan. The former is releasing on 24th June 2016, while the latter will hit the theatres on 23rd September 2016.
