Veerappan First Day Collection
This Friday is among the busy ones as compared to the previous one, which had solo release called Sarabjit. Three movies releasing in a row including Veerappan, Phobia and Waiting and as expected none of the film were able to have a decent opening at the box office. Starting with the RGV film called Veerappan with 8-10 percent of opening in the morning shows that soared a bit to 25 to 30 percent. The film has mixed reviews though with good performance, but such films can only have niche audiences. Thus one cannot expect much from it. As per reports, the box office collection tolled to only 80 lakhs, while the Kannada version of the film had a decent response.
Phobia First Day Collection
Next is Phobia, the Radhika Apte starrer psychological film was seen the worst over the box office. Again this film dealing with different forms of Phobia can only attract the niche audience; hence it was seen only opening with mere 2-3 occupancy report. So, with no great hopes, the film meagerly managed to soar it occupancy in the evening shows. As per reports, the first day box office collection for Phobia tolled only to 50 lakhs, which can be called the deserving figure for the film. Now, next is the Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin starrer film Waiting, let’s talk about it.
Waiting First Day Collection
Well, as far as Waiting is concerned, it failed to promote in the media, though it managed to get good rating by the critics. But the limited amount of screens and low promotion came its way, which failed it over the box office. Anyway, the film can still manage provided it is able to garner a good word of mouth buzz. As per reports, the first day box office collection tolled to around 1 crores, which is still a decent figure considering a low budget film made in the four walls of a hospital based in a city like Kochi. Let’s wait and watch to see how things move in the coming first weekend. But as of now, the pictures isn’t that rosy.
