Veerappan, Phobia & Waiting 1st Weekend Box Office Report

The passed Friday had three movies releasing, which include Veerappan, Phobia & Waiting. As expected their collections of the films were at par to the figures quoted by the trade pundits and experts considering the low star value, meager promotions and other factors. Now, let’s start with Veerappan, the film though was promoted aggressively, ironically the numbers at the box office collection was low as opined by the trade pundits. The high expectations from the film were due to the presence of Ram Gopal Varma in this film, but things simply went the other way.  The film had low collections on the first two days of its release, however, on Sunday; it was seen with some escalation.  Let’s see how things movie in the coming week days for the film.

The next movie is Phobia, which witnessed a huge amount of promotions via online medium with a niche urban audience in most of the cities. However, it collection tolled to 1.25 crore in the coming three days. The movie has made a modest budget; however, theatrically it simply needs to boost up with in the coming day or it will fail over the box office. The last film Waiting featuring Naseeruddin Shah and Kalki Koechlin too went on the similar path. As per reports, the first weekend box office collection tolled to around 1 crores, which is again the same the experts were expecting. The film is less likely to prosper during the weekdays. Thanks to the low promotion as seen in the media about the film which came in its way in big fashion.
