Veer-Zaara Set for Record-Breaking Re-release on November 7 Across 600+ Overseas Screens; Shah Rukh Khan Classic to Debut in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman
Last week, it was the portal Bollywood Hungama that reported that the beloved film Veer-Zaara (2004), featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, is set to be re-released in international markets on November 7. Notably, the song ‘Yeh Hum Aa Gaye Hai Kahaan’ has been restored to the film, making its debut on the big screen after being cut from the original release. Bollywood Hungama now has exciting updates about this re-release, which coincides with the film’s upcoming 20th anniversary in just five days.
Sources reveal that Veer-Zaara will be making its debut in countries such as Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman. The film’s producers, Yash Raj Films (YRF), have even unveiled a new poster to commemorate this landmark event.But that’s not all. A source informed Bollywood Hungama, “YRF has really gone all out for Veer-Zaara’s re-release. The film will be showcased on over 600 screens in foreign territories, likely marking it as the largest re-release for a Bollywood film overseas.”In addition to Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Oman, Veer-Zaara will also hit screens in the USA, Canada, UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UK, Ireland, Germany, Austria, France, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Singapore, Malaysia, South Africa, and more.
The anticipation surrounding the re-release has sparked enthusiasm among fans. Recent bookings in Germany have shown promising responses, suggesting that Veer-Zaara could attract full houses around the globe this weekend.November 2024 is shaping up to be a momentous month for Shah Rukh Khan. Following his 59th birthday celebration on November 2, he will see the re-release of Veer-Zaara, followed by another iconic film of his, Karan Arjun (1995), which is also set for a worldwide re-release on November 22.
Directed by Yash Chopra, Veer-Zaara tells the poignant tale of an Indian Air Force Squadron Leader who falls in love with a young Pakistani woman during her visit to India. The story takes a dramatic turn when he travels to Pakistan to see her and is wrongfully imprisoned. After spending 22 years behind bars, he is aided by a passionate Pakistani lawyer. The film also features Rani Mukerji, Divya Dutta, Kirron Kher, and Manoj Bajpayee, alongside special appearances by Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini.
