Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 Postponed; Ranbir-Alia-Vicky’s Love & War Likely To Clash With Kartik Aaryan’s Naagzilla During Independence Day Week 2026
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has postponed the release of Love & War from its original March 2026 slot due to delays in shooting. Recently, we reported that Bhansali is now eyeing an August 14, 2026 release for the film, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal. Interestingly, just a week ago, it was announced that Kartik Aaryan’s newly launched project, Naagzilla, is also set for release on the same day. Adding to the competition, at the start of the year, Maddock Films announced that Bhediya 2, featuring Varun Dhawan, would also be released during that week.
However, it appears that Bhediya 2 will not meet its scheduled release date. A source informed Bollywood Hungama, “Bhediya 2 is getting delayed. The team at Maddock Films is already exploring alternative dates.”The source elaborated, “Three big films releasing on the same day would have created significant issues with screen sharing. With Bhediya 2 being pushed back, Love & War and Naagzilla can now release on the same day. Both films belong to diverse genres and are star-studded, which is sure to excite audiences and draw them to theaters.”While the release date for Love & War is not yet finalized, the source confirmed that August 14 is a top contender.
As for Naagzilla, the makers believe the timing is perfect, considering their film involves snakes, with Nag Panchami falling on August 17. They aim to capitalize on this by releasing on August 14.Bhediya 2 is not the only horror comedy facing delays; recent reports indicate that another film from the Maddock Horror Comedy Cinematic Universe, Shakti Shalini, starring Kiara Advani, has also been postponed and will not be released on December 31, 2025.Regarding Naagzilla, it is directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba and produced by Mahaveer Jain Films and Dharma Productions.
