Varun Dhawan’s ‘Baby John’ Set to Stream on Amazon Prime Video: Details Inside

Filmmaker Kalees’ action-drama Baby John, featuring Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, hit theaters this Christmas. Unfortunately, the film struggled at the box office, leading to speculation that it had not secured an OTT platform for its online streaming release. However, Bollywood Hungama has confirmed that these rumors are unfounded. Baby John has indeed been acquired by the streaming giant Amazon Prime Video, and it is set to premiere on the platform either at the end of February or the first week of March.
Baby John is the official Hindi remake of Atlee’s popular Tamil movie Theri, which was released in 2016 and starred Vijay, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, and Amy Jackson in significant roles. Atlee, alongside his wife Priya Atlee, produced the Hindi adaptation with Jyoti Deshpande from Jio Studios, entrusting Kalees with the direction of this new version.
In Baby John, Jackie Shroff takes on the villainous role, while Varun Dhawan portrays an IPS (Indian Police Service) officer, with the narrative unfolding across two different time zones. The film also features a special cameo by superstar Salman Khan, adding to its star-studded cast.
Despite its lackluster theatrical performance, the upcoming streaming release on Amazon Prime Video is expected to reach a wider audience, allowing viewers to experience the film from the comfort of their homes. With its engaging storyline and notable performances, Baby John may yet find success in the digital space.
The film’s exploration of themes such as justice and family values, combined with high-octane action sequences, positions it as a potential favorite among fans of the genre, making its streaming debut highly anticipated.
