Vaani Kapoor Removes Abir Gulaal Posts Featuring Fawad Khan After Pahalgam Terror Attack

Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor is set to star alongside Pakistani actor Fawad Khan in his return to Bollywood with the film Abir Gulaal. However, following the tragic Pahalgam terror attack in April, the film has faced significant backlash, with government sources informing PTI that it will not be allowed to release in India. As a result, all promotional content related to the film has been removed from Vaani’s Instagram account.
Shortly after the Pahalgam attack, all posts associated with Abir Gulaal and Fawad Khan disappeared from Vaani Kapoor’s profile. This included posters, teasers, and behind-the-scenes content. It has been reported that the actress did not personally delete the posts; rather, they were shared through Instagram collaborations, and the film’s production team managed the deletion. Consequently, this led to the automatic removal of the posts from Vaani’s account. This action coincided with the restriction of Instagram accounts belonging to several Pakistani celebrities, including Fawad Khan, Hania Aamir, Mahira Khan, and Atif Aslam, in India after the attack. Users attempting to access these profiles from India are met with a blank page and a message stating, “Account not available in India.
This is because we complied with a legal request to restrict this content.”For those unaware, Abir Gulaal, a romantic drama directed by Aarti S. Bagdi and produced by Vivek Agrawal, was initially set to release in India on May 9. However, in light of the Pahalgam attack and rising political tensions between India and Pakistan, government sources confirmed that “the movie Abir Gulaal, starring Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, will not be allowed to release in India.”On April 22, 26 people, primarily civilians, were killed in the Pahalgam attack, which has been described as the deadliest incident in the Valley since the Pulwama attack in 2019. Bollywood celebrities, including Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Alia Bhatt, and Priyanka Chopra, condemned the tragedy, while Pakistani actors like Hania Aamir and Mahira Khan expressed their sorrow over the loss of lives.
On the work front, Vaani Kapoor recently appeared in Raid 2, playing the role of Ajay Devgn’s wife. Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, the film also stars Saurabh Shukla, Riteish Deshmukh, Rajat Kapoor, and Supriya Pathak in key roles. Next, she will feature in Badtameez Gill, alongside Aparshakti Khurana, Paresh Rawal, Sheeba Chaddha, Richard Bhakti Klein, and Monica Chaudhary. The release date for this film is yet to be announced.
