Urmila Matondkar Birthday Special: The actress proved that she’s the ‘Queen of horror drama’

Today, on 4th February, Urmila Matondkar celebrates her 48th birthday. The actress came to Bollywood long back in 1977 as a child artist with the film Karm. After that in 1995, the actress came as a lead cast in Ram Gopal Varma’s Rangeela. The actress gained immense popularity for her role in the film and became the favorite of everyone. Urmila Matondkar’s first horror film ‘Kaun?’ was a psychological suspense thriller film directed by Ram Gopal Varma and written by Anurag Kashyap, with the cast of Urmila Matondkar, Manoj Bajpayee, and Sushant Singh. Well, this was the second collaboration between Ram Gopal Varma, Anurag Kashyap and Manoj Bajpayee after blockbuster film Satya.

2 Naina
Released in 2005, Urmila Matondkar starrer film Naina was a part of the Cannes Film Festival. The film is a remake of the 2002 Hong Kong-Singaporean horror film The Eye directed by the Pang brothers. Apart from Urmila, the film starred Anuj Sawhney, Malavika and many more in pivotal roles in the film.

3 Bhoot
This was another collaboration of Ram Gopal Varma and Urmila Matondkar. Bhoot is one of the adequate films in the history of the horror genre in Bollywood. Urmila Matondkar’s stunned character will imperil you for sure. The actress won many awards for her magnifying performance in the film. The film casted Urmila Matondkar, Ajay Devgn, Rekha, Fardeen Khan, Tanuja, Nana Patekar and more.
