Abhay Deol is an Indian actor who was born on 15th March 1976 in Mumbai. He did his schooling and college from Mumbai but is a college drop out as he headed to the US – The City College of New York where he did his course in acting and filmmaking. He never wanted to be an actor but as per him, he entered into this field. It was in his college days, he entered into this field. It took ten years for him to enter into this field. He started his career with Imtiaz Ali’s movie – Socha Nahi Tha with Ayesha Takia in the year 2005.

He then did a couple of movies – Ahista Ahista, Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd, Ek Challis Ki Last Local, Manorama Six Feet Under, Oye Lucky Lucky Oye, Dev D, Road, Movie, Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, Aisha, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Shangai, Chakravayuh, Ranjhanaa, The Lovers, One By Two, Happy Bhag Jayegi, Naanu Ki Jaanu, Zero, Chopsticks, Line of Descent, Bounty Hunter and he did his Tamil film – Idhu Vedhalam Sollum Kadhai. He remains active in the media and has, therefore, remained in the part of a political thriller – Dibankar Banerjee and Prakash Jha of the Chakravyuh.

He has also remained the apart of many web series – which include the Chopsticks, and it is all set to the hit on the digital media called Netlix. He has gained attention with the portrayal of complex features on screen and is vociferous about the parallel cinema in India. Talking about the awards, he has been nominated at various places and platforms and bagged awards for the film- Manorama Six Feet Under at Annual Central European Bollywood Awards , Indo-American Arts Council Awards as Best Actor. He was nominated for films like Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Raanjhanaa for different categories.
