Bunty Aur Babli 2 Review: Saif Ali Khan & Rani Mukerji are the heart & soul of the film!

Bunty Aur Babli 2 Review :

Director : Varun V Sharma
Movie : Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukerji, Sharvari Wagh, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Pankaj Tripathi
Rating: 3.5 stars

The classic heist pair from Bollywood is back. This time, however, with a redesign and a new staff. Abhishek Bachchan and Rani Mukerji, the original Bunty and Babli, thrilled audiences in 2005. The film’s popularity was largely due to Abhishek and Rani’s initial appeal and flawless chemistry. After 16 years, we have a new Bunty aur Babli, complete with a makeover and two new contestants. The film, directed by Varun V Sharma, has Saif Ali Khan in the role of Bunty, Rani reprising her Babli role, and two new stars in the roles of Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sharvari Wagh, giving the series a younger, fresh appeal.

Bunty Aur Babli 2 has a lot of positive aspects. Pankaj Tripathi is at his best in this film. The writing is crisp, the dialogues are laced with dollops of witty humour. The film’s pace and length also work in its favour. It’s fast-paced and doesn’t sag in crucial scenes. Rani Mukerji’s performance as Babli is a standout. Her comedic timing and humour are a revelation, revealing a side of her that we haven’t seen before. The garish makeup and over-the-top costumes just add to Babli’s caricature – and what we adore about her.

Sharvari is a young woman who oozes confidence and has a lot of potential. She has a spark beneath the prosthetics and makeup and appears to be doing what she was destined to do. Siddhant makes the most of his charisma and goes all out to play up his Casanova persona.

The major news is that Saif Ali Khan will take over as Bunty from Abhishek Bachchan. That’s a large pair of shoes to fill. Despite the unfairness of the comparisons, there is a problem with the casting. He feels out of place and a little disoriented as the bumbling Bunty from Fursatganj. Surprisingly, he appears most at ease in his expensive outfits in the second half.

When the camera is on Saif and Rani, Bunty Aur Babli 2 is entertaining. The original Bunty-Babli and the newbies have a chase sequence that is a huge highlight and nicely shot.

Overall, the film is enjoyable and well worth seeing. Yes, Abhishek and Rani’s chemistry will be missed, but don’t let that deter you from seeing the film.
