Composer of ‘Main Nikla Gaddi Leke’, Uttam Singh, Criticizes Gadar 2 Producers: ‘Basic Etiquette Should be Expected

Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 is a massive box office success, but the film’s composer Uttam Singh is not happy. In an interview with Amar Ujala, Singh expressed his disappointment with the film’s team for using his original tracks in the sequel. Singh had originally composed the songs “Main Nikla Gaddi Leke” and “Udd Jaa Kaale Kaava” for the 2001 film Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. These songs were recreated by music director Mithoon for the sequel.

Singh said that he was not consulted about the recreation of the songs, and that he was not happy with the way they were done. He said that the recreations were “not up to the mark” and that they “did not do justice” to the originals. Singh’s disappointment is understandable. His songs were a major part of the success of Gadar: Ek Prem Katha, and he should have been consulted about their recreation. The recreations may have been successful at the box office, but they were not a success with Singh.

It is important to respect the original creators of a work of art. When recreating a work of art, it is important to do it in a way that honors the original. In this case, the recreations of Uttam Singh’s songs did not do justice to the originals. In an interview with Amar Ujala, composer Uttam Singh expressed his disappointment with the Gadar 2 team for using his original tracks without consulting him. He said, “I was not called for Gadar 2, and I do not have the habit of calling and asking for work. They have used two of my songs in the film, and I have also heard that they have used the background music that I composed. They should have at least had the courtesy to ask me first and talk to me before using my songs in the film.”
