Twitteratis criticized the Noida Stadium management for using Farhan Akhtar’s photo to pay tribute to Milkha Singh

Milkha Singh, a legendary Indian sprinter, died on June 18 in Chandigarh from COVID-19 complications. He was 91 years old and had been in the hospital for a few days. Cricketers and celebrities paid tribute to the renowned sprinter and athlete on their social media accounts. The world is currently in mourning at the superstar’s death.

A hoarding was erected in a Noida park to honour the athlete. They substituted a photo of Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar, who played Milkha Singh in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, for his own. The post went viral on social media, and netizens chastised the authorities and demanded that the poster be taken down as quickly as possible.

A user of social media wrote, ‘Would request @noida_athority to replace these boards along the running track at Noida Stadium with the picture of the real Mikha Singh and not Farhan Akhtar’s character in the movie.’

Another one wrote, ‘100% agree.. to me it’s a shameful act by someone who used REEL actor picture on these hoardings. Who the hell is not aware of our REAL HERO – THE FLYING MACHINE Mr. MILKHA [email protected] – Sir, kindly look into this.’

Farhan Akhtar, who portrayed the Flying Sikh in the 2013 film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, wrote a touching message for him on social media.
