Paresh Rawal Confirms Hera Pheri 3 Is Back on Track; Baburao Returns

Paresh Rawal has been making headlines since Bollywood Hungama reported on May 16 that he had decided to exit Hera Pheri 3. Following this, Akshay Kumar issued a legal notice to the veteran actor seeking damages. However, it has now been confirmed that the issues have been resolved, as shared directly by Rawal himself.

Podcast Insights

In a recent podcast with Himanshu Mehta, Rawal addressed the Hera Pheri 3 controversy, stating, “There’s no controversy. When people have loved something so much, we must be extra careful. It’s our responsibility to the audience. They’ve given us so much adulation, and we can’t take that for granted. We must work hard to deliver a good film.”
He continued, “I believe that everyone should come together and put in the effort. Everything is resolved now.” When the host asked for confirmation that all was well, Rawal replied, “Yes, it was always meant to be, but we just needed to fine-tune ourselves (laughs). Everyone involved, including Priyadarshan, Akshay, and Suniel, are friends for many years.”

Background of the Controversy

The controversy began when Rawal confirmed to Bollywood Hungama that he had indeed quit Hera Pheri 3, stating, “Yes, it’s a fact.” In response, Akshay Kumar’s production company, Cape of Good Films, filed a lawsuit against Rawal for Rs. 25 crores. Kumar’s legal team issued a statement outlining their grievances. Reports later revealed that Rawal returned the signing amount of Rs. 11 lakhs along with 15% annual interest, in addition to a bit more for stepping away from the project.
A source revealed that Rawal had been initially paid Rs. 11 lakhs as a signing amount, with a total fee of Rs. 15 crores agreed upon. However, he had concerns about a clause stating that the remaining payment would only be released one month after the film’s release, which could mean a wait of nearly two years.

Akshay Kumar’s Response

During the launch of the Housefull 5 trailer, Akshay Kumar chose not to elaborate on the legal matter, stating, “It’s a very serious issue that will be handled by the courts.” However, he did commend Paresh Rawal, stating, “Using the term ‘foolish’ to describe my co-star is not right. I have worked with him for 32 years and truly admire him.”
This development marks a significant turn in the ongoing saga surrounding Hera Pheri 3, with both parties now seemingly moving forward amicably.
