THROWBACK: Did you know that Sonam Kapoor once called Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘Aunty’
A few weeks ago, a war on social media was going on due to Bigg Boss contestant Tejasswi Prakash’s age slamming comment over Shamita Shetty. The netizens went crazy and kept on outbursting this on their social media handle. Well, some were against the BB winner on the other hand some were defending her stating that it wasn’t that hurtful. Out of all, many celebrities also came out in support of Shamita Shetty.
Well, this same incident took place a few years back in Bollywood, where Sonam Kapoor had called Bollywood’s diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan ‘Aunty’. Back in 2009, Sonam Kapoor was into a huge controversy for her statement over Aishwarya Rai. During an interview, Sonam was asked about replacing Aishwarya as the face of the brand, to this, the actress went on to say that Aishwarya is an aunty from another generation. She also said that she and Aishwarya belong to two different generations. She had clarified that Aishwarya has worked with her father Anil Kapoor, so obviously she will call her aunty.
This ended up as a huge rivalry against both the actresses, but after a couple of years both the actresses sorted it out. Not just that Aishwarya had even attended Sonam Kapoor’s wedding and Sonam had personally invited the Bachchan’s for her wedding.
